Gutters, fascias and the roof edge

Gutters hang from the fascia boards, so rotten or damaged fascias usually mean the gutters have to come off too, and where both need doing it makes sense to replace them together. Moss washing down from the roof is one of the main things that blocks gutters, which is where moss removal helps.

Birds often nest in gutters and under the roofline in spring and summer. Active nests are protected by law, so roofline work is planned around them rather than disturbing them.
