Roof Inspections in Surrey and South London

A roof is easy to forget until it leaks. A proper inspection finds the small problems, a slipped tile, cracked mortar or worn flashing, while they are still small and cheap to put right. We get up and look at the roof properly rather than guessing from the ground, then explain plainly what we have found.

When it is worth having your roof inspected

• After a storm or a spell of high winds.
• When you notice a leak, damp or a stain on a ceiling.
• If the roof is older and has not been looked at for some years.
• Before buying a house, alongside the survey.
• Before selling, so you can deal with anything a buyer's surveyor might raise.
• If you have spotted slipped tiles, heavy moss or a slope that looks like it is sagging.

What we look at

• The tiles or slates across every slope.
• Ridge and hip tiles and how securely they are fixed.
• Flashing at chimneys, walls and dormers.
• Valleys and any other lead work.
• Chimney stacks, pots and flaunching.
• Gutters, downpipes, fascias and soffits.
• Flat roof coverings, where there are any.
• From inside, where we can get into the loft, signs of daylight, damp or condensation and the condition of the timbers.
